December 27, 2011: HOla

Well It was such a blast to talk to you all on Christmas! I hope you all had such a FANTASTIC Christmas! I love you all so much. Dont worry mom the phone call didnt make me homesick. It was a good talk but a little too short. I loved it though! Thanks for everything aswell. Good call on the tuna because thats all I have been eating lately. I found out thats a great meal for me at night tuna out of the can.. haha I love it! Everything is perfect! I think tonight Ima cook us some mashed patatoes with chicken and gravy so that will be good! Well This past week was great in the work of the Lord we found some great new investigators that will hopefully progress! I love to find new investigators. Those who search, find. Those who find, teach. Those who teach, Baptize! Gotta do all of the steps and the Lord will bless us! Well Im still eating tamales for lunch and dinner so Im still not over the tamale rage but thats okay I think I can do It! Just good be diligent in my tamale eating! haha At times I think im too nice and always say yes to seconds and fouths when I really want to say no! haha Well I love you all and hope you all are doing well! December 20, 2011: Hello

Merry Merry Christmas! WOW how time flies? I know right.. Well it will be a weird one without the Family! But HEY! no Big Deal! Ill just be here in Guatemala with my Guatemalan companion and families! Good ol Navidad you betcha! Well My companion gets more and more baggy every day. Baggy or Trunky or whatever you call it. Ask the boys Im sure they know the mission terms. Its been kind of rough for me not going to lie! But I love the Challenge. Love this work! We have goals as a mission to baptize 204 souls in January Mosiah 18:16 And right now we just had 3 baptismal dates fall! Its a little frustrating. But Its okay. We gotta just keep doing our best and the Lord will bless! Well I sure do love my family! I hope you all are doing wonderful! Thanks for the pictures Jake and Michelle! Britton looks like a baller in his jersey. Brynlee bear is GORGEOUS! Good work Team! My nieces and nephews are just angels and I wish I could just squeeze them all! I have a good story to tell about some of my letters that I received so remind me to tell you story about the letters in case I forget when we talk on the phone haha. Its great. Thanks for being the greatest family ever! I hope that you all know how much I love you! My testimony of this work and this gospel grows more and more each day! It can not be shaken either. Its been tried by some great Guatemalan preachers but even they dont stand a chance! haha Well Happy holidays to all and I sent some letters home so let me know if you get them! I sure hope so. WELP love you all and Pray for you all daily! oh yeah real quick. my comp and I were a part of a Families gift exchange we drew names and all that Jazz it was pretty great! I love that family. Family Gonzales is their name and this saturday we will be with them helping them cook tamales and all the Guatemalan food for Christmas so that will be fun. Saturday here is when they feast and we have like 5 feast invitations and so I will be really fat by sunday! haha LOVE YOU ALL!!!! HO HO HO n stufff!

December 13, 2011: YAY

YAY!!! New BABY GIRL!! Happy Birthday!! WOOO What a surprise! That is super great! She looks super cute and chubby! Love her already! What a Cutie.. I am proud to be an Uncle again haha WOWZERS... Cute little Brynlee.. Well that just made my week! I am so happy! Well I hope all is well with everyone! Jake and Michelle Congrats I hope she is wonderful and Britton be nice! haha 

 Well the mission is super great! I love it! Changes are on wednesday and Im staying with my companion of course. So it will be a great change with him. If I can get him to work a little harder! And I can! It will be great! I feel bad I meant to say Happy Anniversary two weeks ago to mom and dad but I forget things some times. Well for the Christmas call I can do it the 24th or the 25th and you can help me decide! I dont know which will be better... or when. But the day of my companion can call you and tell you when i will call.. or I can cause he doesnt speak english. So let me know next week and I will call the day of to confirm! I am super excited. I am going to ask president this week if I will be able to call Jake and Michelle and talk for atleast 10 minutes or something but we will see. I hope everyone is having a great Christmas season. Jake and Michelle already got their present and more so thats super great! I wanted to send a Christmas card and photo home but I live too far from the foto place so I was a little bummed but thats okay maybe next year.. haha It seems like people arent even getting my letters anyway. and Ive been told that people have sent me letters but I havent gotten them. So thats kind of sad. But oh well.

 There is a girl in my district that goes home this week. She is from Equador and her brother is serving in the same mission as Jeremiah so she is taking a letter for me to send to him through the package she is going to send to her brother. So that will be great! hopefully he gets it! Well I love this work and I love all of you! I hope the new baby is just wonderful she looks it already! Great to have pictures. December 5, 2011: GO JAZZ..

Hey Fam

Well this past super P'day Christmas was AMAZING. It was really just wonderful! Our zone was with two different zones and then President and his wife and daughter. We started off the day (monday) having to wake up really early to get to the capital by 9. When we got there we got our service assignments. I got luck and just painted a little appartment. It was fun and great to get some painting in. haha At 1 We went back to the stake center to eat a little McDonalds and then we played games and just had fun for a bit. at like 5 we got dressed into our mission clothes and ate dinner. It was great food! some nice carne asada n stuff, Chapìn style.. after we started our fast. We all fasted so that we can achieve our goal of the month of january. Our goal is to have 204 baptisms in that month. After that we had a devotional. It was really great! First watched a movie called 17 Miracles. It was a really great movie. If you havent seen it you probably should and perhaps with the ward dad. Its really great movie. Its about the pioneers. The Willie hand cart company. Its a real tear jerker. I dont think there was an eye dry during that movie. It was great. It really brought the spirit. After Hermana Brough bore her testimony in which her spanish is getting really good! I love it! After President talked about Christmas and alot about Jesus Christ and how we need to remember the mission of Jesus Christ at Christmas not only the birth. And about the things he suffered for us. and how he really felt everything we go through. It really made me realize I can do a lot more. In that movie its crazy to see all the thing they suffered. We really have it good as members in these days. At times I feel like things are hard for me. When compared to the pioneers I dont have anything hard. And really I need to always have our Savior on my mind and everything he did for us. At times we forget about him. Still do the things we should but days pass without even thinking about the things we have because of him or the things he did for us. It was really an amazing night. We then topped it off this morning with going to the temple. It was a great 2 day event. Now its time to take the spirit that we have right now and go and work! I love this gospel and I love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I hope we can really focus on Him this year for Christmas and have the true happiness Christmas can bring! I love my family so much and I love this Gospel. Everything we have is because of this Gospel and we need to give everything we have back. I love this work! Being a missionary.. there isnt a better calling in the church. Love you all. and Jingle Bells n stuff.. I sure miss the cold in this season. I dont how jake does it. November 28, 2011: Hello

Family,

Hola como estan? MUY BIEN...First off HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SISTER JULIE ANN! I hope it was all you ever wanted and more! I hope you know I love you soooo much and hope my letter gets to you. I sent it to home. Sooo get it from mom and dad! YAY! Well I love you all and sounds like your thanksgiving was really great? haha with sickness... And some family. ;) Cool beans! I had a good Thanksgiving my comp and I ordered Pizza and I made us some mashedpatatoes they were good but just didnt mix well with pizza. I can tell you what I really missed was STUFFING!! Mmm I love stuffing perhaps next year. haha Another thing I missed alot.. Playing football. Good ol turkey bowl and well I just miss Football. The real kind non of this Football fake kind the one you play with your foot haha. Well I love the mission. Also there is been some changes to our P'day. P'day has been changed to Monday. So we will now be writing every tuesday. So that will be a little different but maybe some more time for you all to write me more! haha Too bad to hear about everyone being sick! Sounds like Beckham did work... Atta babe Ham.. ;) Good to hear Grandma is doing well! Shes a warrior we all already know that. Nothing can phase her! HAH Well this Change has gone by really fast we are already in semana 5 so gotta keep working hard. This might be my first change with out a baptism.. Thats too bad but when I came I had nothing to work with! We had no investigators and still have few but thats okay we are going to have a great next change! My companion is counting the days til he goes home so hes not wanting to work more and more everyday but im going to push him hard! I think hes starting to get mad at me a bit but thats okay NO BIG DEAL! This next week we have our Christmas, two day, P'day! It should be fun. Monday we have service project in the morning after is just a couple hours of playing sports n stuff. After we have a feast and President said a spiritual devotional that we will never forget! We all think Someone is coming like Pres. Uchtdorf because the temple dedication is so close. Im really excited to see what it is. It should be great But I love you all and hope you all are doing well! I love this Gospel and I am so lucky to be able to teach people this perfect gospel! I am also so lucky to have such a great loving family! I love my family so much and love this work. Serving as a full time missionary my testimony has grown ALOT! It will continue to grow each day! The blessings I have in my life right now are tremendous! I love you all and miss you all too! MUCH LOVE and MANY PRAYERS FROM THIS GUY...

November 21, 2011: Happy Thanksgiving

IM THANKFUL FOR...... Well my family, Both of my grandmas! Grandma Jake because she always writes me alot and her letters are super great and funny and I love to get letters. Grandma Moon because she always is so loving and loves to feed me OREOS... I have the best grandmas in the world.. My Mom and Dad. My Mom because of her strong testimony and the love she has for her children. My dad because of the great example he has always been in holding the preisthood worthly and the friend that he is to everyone. My Brother Jake and his beautiful family. Jake for his happiness and his will to do anything for anyone who needs it. His wife Michelle because she likes to have fun and cares for everyone not only because shes a nurse. and Britton because hes crazy cat and just a baller. And Brinley? cause shes going to be super cute. haha My brother Zach and his beautiful spanish family. Zach because he always there to make people happy and can always help us laugh. Stef because she is an example to us all when we need to choose the right. Beckham because he has cute face and hair and is my chancho. Lexi because she is super cute and will love her Uncle AL forever!! Julie Ann Because She is easy to love and when we need something she will help! Molly Jane because she is just and angel/Princess/ everyones best friend!

Well these are just a few reasons why Love you all and am so thankful for my family! Im thankful to know that we can be together forever! Families really can be together forever and I just love you all so much and hope you have a great thanksgiving! Most of all I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity I have to be a missionary here in Guatemala! This church is perfect this gospel is pure! The Church is true and there is nothing more true on the is earth! This work will never die and I am so thankful for this work it is the best part of my life right now! November 14, 2011: Hola

Aloha,

Well how is everyone? I sure hope good! I am doing just great! My new area is great! I felt a little rushed last week so I didnt really explain very well. But my new area is Siquinala, Esquintla but im in the zone of Santa Lucia. This area is HUGE! But its okay I like big areas. Gives me lots of people to work with. Im excited to be here. My companion is Elder Jimenez. He is from Guatemala. From Zona 1 in the Capital. His house is in the North Mission. President asked me if I would help him finish his mission successful.. And he said and how do you do that? He said.. BAPTIZE! So thats exactly what we are going to do! Here in the coast it is hard to have baptisms apparently... But were going to baptize! I have the faith. Another thing that president told me in that interview was he said that he knows my future for the next 4 changes. He said he knows already who i will be with and where and what.. He said it was kind of weird but he said he already knows. I thought that was interresting. Well I know Ill be here in Siquinala with Elder Jimenez for 2 changes but he said he knows the two after too. Kinda cool.. President Brough is an amazing man. He is truly guided by the Lord everything he does is always by the guide of the spirit! But hey im glad to be here. I really hope that we can have some success to help Elder Jimenez end on a good note! Hes a great missionary. He just hasnt really let the mission become a life changing experience for him. I kinda think is been hard for him. For me atleast I thinks its hard for him because he is so close to home. But I want to help him change his view on the mission and so hopefully I can help him out. 

Well another thing that is kind of weird here in the coast is that it isnt a ward. Its a branch. So my first sunday was kinda crazy. But it was great haha. I love my branch. Everyone is so great. It was fast sunday so I had the opportunity to bare my testimony! I bore my testimony on the obra misional. Told them that we need to work together in the mission work and that we can have more success if we do. It was a great opportunity for me to start on a fast sunday. I also found out that alot of the members here are really willing to work with us! So I think it will be great to be able to work with the members here! I am really excited to be here. I love this work and I am so lucky to be able to be a missionary here in Guatemala. Missionary work is the greatest work ever! It will never fail. I love all of you so much and i hope you all know how true this church is and how it is the ONLY true church in the world! I think the biggest change for me here in the mission field has been seeing how MANY other churches there really are. Its really kind of sad. In Utah well we only know of one and we are so lucky! Well I love you all so much and love my savior and I am so happy I can be a representative of him here in guatemala. MUCH MUCH LOVE!! Keep on being the best family ever! and always remember CTR! ;) hahaha

November 7, 2011: HOLA

Hello my family

 

I am in a new area!! YAY right?... RIGHT! I love my new area!! The only down part... Its in the Coast... what does that mean? QUE CALORRRR!! haha Oh wells... Its great area.. its called Siquinala Santa Lucia. Great place great people. The people here are so humble and much nicer then the people in the Cap. haha Now i will tell you my story about Change meeting. So Monday night.. This is the night that they call and tell you if you have changes or not.. I did.. Sooo After dancing and screaming silently I went to sleep. next day I just said bye to my converts and family chavez. Family Hernandez my most recent converts had a big dinner planned for me.. After I had already eaten so much that day so I ate a TON!! Anywho the next day I packed and all that jazz barely had a enough room some how I am gaining new things.. haha OH well.. Got to change meeting talking to everyone just excited and nervous and stuff like everyone. Then one of the APs came up to me and said I had an interview with president! HAHA What? i had no idea. My zone leaders just didnt tell me. So I had no clue why.. So i go and wait and then Its my turn for the interview. Walk in President sits me down and says.. Look you are completely ready to be senor comp. No doubt in my mind. But Im going to ask you a favor. You will still be junior comp but your companion is someone that has two changes left in his mission and has never been senior comp. So he said he was just going to keep him down but then he prayed about it and said he had the inspiration to put him with me. He said with a junior comp but the RIGHT junior comp and that was me.. HAHA but then he said im the leader of retention for my zone. So in a form I guess I moved up a bit. haha But I love my comp he is great! Elder Jimenez. Well I dont have much time but here are some fotos. Love you all I will explain more next week!!

October 31, 2011: Family

Hello my family!   How is everyone doing? Well Im doing better. I sat my comp down and made him talk to me and we worked somethings out. Things have been better. I now realize that his angry face is normal. But when hes angry he doesnt change. so you just cant really tell.. HAHA.. Well im not going to lie. I love Halloween.. I miss Halloween with my family. alot! Tonight in my area is suppose to be kinda crazy! They shut down the whole main road and there is just tons of people in the streets I guess. So i guess im ready for that. My family that i love here Familia Chavez are all really sad. They DO NOT want me to leave. But I will find out tonight if im staying or going sooo.. Pray for me haha! But at the same time it will be hard to leave this area. I love everyone in this area its great! Anywho things are good here and hopefully tonight will be fun.. But i dont know my comp says we cant have fun. ZERO FUN SIR... Well all i can say is Molly... say hi to Vaughan for me haha thats too bad they arent telling you when he is coming home. October 24, 2011: HELLO

Hello my beloved familly. How is everyone doing? Well.. Im doing good. Any week is good when you have a baptism. I had the opportunity to baptize Hna Sylvia and her daughter Monica. I thought my comp was going to baptize one of them but he didnt bring his clothes. Yeah hes great. Hes had a enough with me. He freaked out at me on saturday. But no big deal right? Just pray for me. I need to leave this change. I will know in a week from today. If not... I really dont know what im going to do! Keep on workin hard I guess. Well I hope everyone is doing well. Send my love to Erin and Sara. That is really really sad. Anywho the baptism went really well. It was a special day for them. It was good. Made me happy. Elder Nielson and I found them in our first change so I was really happy to see them be baptized and help them haha. The father, Edenilson, is like my best friend he is so dope. He always writes me letters that say how greatful he is for helping him find the gospel again and he is just super awesome! So funny so we always joke around and stuff and then we try to joke around with my comp and he just gets offended. haha oops.. Things are good. Still loving life as a missionary. I know that this is just part of the mission and this too shall pass like Grandpa Jake used to say.. says mom... haha I love it. I love to picture in my mind mom at disneyland right now... It just makes me laugh... I hope I get some pictures. Well I hope all is going well with the family. I love you all and hope you know that I love this work. and I know the work of the Lord will never FAIL nor will it ever stop. All I know is that we are here to prepare and so we can live together as a family FOREVER. And im so greatful I have such a great family. October 17, 2011: Hi

I love my family.

How is everyone doing? I sure hope good... Me... Well... Im hangin in there! We have a baptism this sunday YAY Hna Sylvia Hernandez and her daughter Monica. They are great! Im excited.. Its been a long journey but a great one. They are awesome I love this family. We thats great you went to Marshalls homecoming.. Great kid. Great missionary he was... yoda.. Well this is the week for the conference with Elder Martino not last week but I am excited! I talked to the zone leaders this morning and they told me they hooked me up. Well not hooked me up but the report they gave president was pure and true about my comp and I so I think im outta here sooo two more weeks of this  I CAN DO IT haha but its been rough. But if i stay.. Not sure what im gonig to do but i know that i will be able to do it! I love my area. but even some of the members are having troubles with my comp and the members here are so awesome but que mi importa... Well I love you all and sorry this week was kind of short. Just not much to say.. haha but Im loving life as a missionary! I know that being with this comp is only going to make me stronger and better missionary. Well I love this work and can truly feel your prayers. they have been helping. I truly am blessed! Well I love you all! Thanks for everything! Have fun in Disneyland mom! hahaha Thats awesome! October 10, 2011: Hey

Hello my family,

How are things going for everyone? I hope good! Im doing.... alright.. but at the same time im doing amazing! I love my mission and am learning things daily. Its hard with my companion though I dont like it at all Im not going to lie. I dont know why. He is so double sided. I cant stand it. But I dont want to complain. I am just trying to learn from him. A thing i try to tell him is that we teach people not lessons. He just does the same contact with every person same lesson with every person. Kinda drives me crazy. He doesnt trust me either so do I ever get to talk.... no he never gives me time I always have to cut him off haha he gets mad but I dont know what else to do.... But hey Im happy! I love my mission and love the members in my area. Its really funny the members try to joke with my comp and he just doesnt do jokes I find it hilarious but he just has the roughest personality. haha oh well Im trying to take the good qualities he has. Not the bad. Its hard not to be down in the dumps though sometimes. But we are trying to work on our relationship. I hope haha but anywho I love all of you and I dont mean to complain. I love him and love this work. Its great. I just love divisions that much more haha Well we have Conferencia de Zona this wednesday with Elder Martino so that will be good Im excited for that! We hopefully will have a baptism on the 23rd but its gonna need some prayers. haha Hermana sylvia and her daughter. They still dont feel prepared enough but I know they are ready! I sure hope we can help them feel ready. Other then that we are working hard and trying to find people to teach but its just weird how Elder Ortega works. Not a smart worker.. Hard worker but not a smart worker. I am trying to make things better and help organize and be smarter in our work but he does what he wants because hes got 20 months a district leader.. I have not even 6.. haha He knows all right? Oh well just gotta keep on working hard. Other then that things are great! Sorry I never said much about the stuff you sent me! I loved all of it. The beef jerkey was perfect for conference and the hand sanitizer I love them so much haha so does everyone else all the little kids just want some haha they love it too and of course I share so they have gone fast but i still have bunch left. haha I love it. The cookies were perfect! The sun flower seeds keep me awake during studies haha thats good! The mints were way good! The shoes are better but im gonna save them for special occaciones so I can have some good shoes but these other shoes are just breaking down fast. haha oh well! poprocks are great! haha thanks so much again! Well I love you all and Pray for you all morning and Night! I loved the pictures and would love more I love my family so much and love to show you all off. Everytime I see these little niños I just think about my little niños haha I miss so much! I love you all though and just keep praying! Spanish is better still really rough but better. Pray that my comp may talk with me and walk with me and help me with spanish so that i can become better at speaking! haha Hope all is good for you all! Remember that this church is true! I wish you all could see all these false churches down here Its crazy how many and how apostasy they are haha but its sad when people compare the church of jesus christ of latter day saints to these other churches. Its sad. People have hard times going to our church because we dont have a band that plays and we dont jump up and down and scream to our songs. Its sad but Thats why we are here to help these people understand the truth! I love these people andlove this area. I love all of you and hope to hear from you all soon! Much love and prayers!

October 3, 2011: Hola

Well hello my family...
Conference was the GREATEST! I loved every minute of it and just soaked it all in took 21 pages of notes to look at until the lihona comes out next month! haha Super great though. It went by super duper fast though.. Way too fast But it was totally worth it! Thats good you got to see Elder Nielson. I love him and will be forever greatful for him! Beckham looks good in that jersey haha I thought they were pretty cool so i had to get them! I hope we all realized this passed conference the inportance of the Book of Mormon.. We need to feast daily from its teachings and it will be much easier for us to endure to the end! I loved Elder Callisters talk. It was probably my favorite! But they were all super great! I loved them all. President Monson was just crazy as ever we were all just dying laughing! haha Elder Holland really threw all the aaronic Priesthood holders for a whirl! We do need more missionaries that is for sure! I loved his talk too. I just loved conference all together! It was good to get a quick break from my comp.. I hate to say that but it was good.. haha I love my comp. we work hard. Hes just not lovin the big guy. He doesnt like to laugh and joke and smile so its really hard for me. because thats all I do!!!!!!!! How can I stop that? I cant right? I hope he doesnt take it from me.. But things will get better! I just wish he would let me speak sometimes... He loves to talk though... haha and sing.. Loud.. so it scares the spirit away and really tone def.. haha okay Im done i love him. I just got to adjust. Its just really different now. haha But thats okay Things will be good we work hard and thats all I want outta of him! Im surprised no one said anything about the tabernacle!! or is this old news?? I was in AWE!! I couldnt believe my ears!!! I was so excited to hear that! The Lord surely had things in store with that building. So many memories there! I love it. Stake conference there and all those great things now.. when i get home... I can get married there.. But lets pray that I will be home before its dedicated I would love to be there! I am so excited for that! I Love it two temples in provo! SO great! Im still in awe... I was the most surprised one there though. My zone leader.. who i love so much and talks like a hick even when he speaks spanish.. about started to cry when he said Star Valley, Wyoming. We had just had divisions and he told me all about his little community. haha I asked so what city do you live in? he said oh I dont live in a city.. Its called a community haha it was hilarious but he said a bunch of these little communities make up star valley. Then when they announced that he was so shocked! He was like i dont think you realize how small that place is.. ha ha it was hilarious! We were all just lovin it! haha BUt it was definately a great conference weekend. The Gringo room was great! Loved it! We have a fecha meta for a family 15 of octubre so pray for Sylvia and Monica Hernandez. The father is already a member was baptized when he was 17. named Edinilson almost Elder Nielson haha but he is so awesome I love him. when we first found him he was like yeah im a member.. I think haha then like the 3 visit with them he was like look what I found and it was a note book with his testimony and the missionaries that baptized him and just his life and how great it was being a member! Brought back so many memories and now he remembers it all and Love s church once again! He is so awesome he wrote Elder Nielson and I letters and just always thanks us for bringing him back. He had his mission call and everything to Nicuragua Sur but couldnt go cause he had to enter the army and in the army completely forgot about the church but now he is super great. Now were just trying on getting his daughter and his wife baptized! Hes great though we went and got him for Priesthood session and he loved it! I love that family I sure hope we can prepare them for the 15th she keeps saying she doesnt feel ready but we will try our best to get here there! Great family! We just got to stress prayer. Prayer is the only way we can get prepared.. But sorry about this horrible grammar I hope im making sense I just feel like I have no time! Well I love you all and hope to hear from you all soon! September 28, 2011: My family is the greatest family EVAHHH

Well.. Hello family..
This past week was a kind of crazy week! But it was good! It was really hard to say goodbye to Elder Nielson.I learned so much from him and was so lucky to have him as a companion. He taught me so many things I will never forget and really prepared me to have a successfull mission! He is awesome! Gained a new best friend in the process too! I sure hope you will have him over for family dinners and things like that cause he really wants to get to know you guys haha.. Great guy though Love him. His family is awesome too! I met his family on sunday night cause they came and visited the area. His parents said they loved meeting you mom and dad. His dad told me after they left they felt like they just got done visiting long lost old friends. felt like youve been friends forever! haha I laughed and said yep thats my mom and dad. I also said my dad loves to talk alot. Brother Nielson laughed and said well Im a good listener haha.. Great family though! Good to see Elder Nielson one more time though! His flight left Guatemala this morning at 8. I think that would be fun to have parents come and visit all your areas with you... hint hint.. start saving your pesos! haha Jokes jokes but it was great! Well I also recieved my new companion.. His name is Elder Ortega.. He is from Panama. A very hard working missionary! I love it. Im happy he is cause I was worried to get a latin companion cause sometimes they are chambones... But he works hard! but a couple of things that drive me nuts.. He is always sooo serious in the streets and he never walks with me... makes me kind of sad.. so its hard to be my energetic self always with him but hope fully it will get better! I keep telling him when were in the streets we need to be happy and a strong companionship. Cause when were with people he is really happy and a great guy but when its just me and him he seems like mad.. haha I dont know what to do.. He doesnt really like my jokes either. But hey no big deal! Im a be me and theres nothing he can do about it! haha No but Im not complaining Im excited for this opportunity to work with him because he works hard and it will be a great time with him! President told me on monday because we had a meeting with him that he put me with him so I can learn spanish.. He said if you can get to the point where you can understand him clearly you can understand anyone because he talks kind of weird but thing are good I understand him most of the time already so it will be good.. He likes to cut off the ends of words but its all good! We will work hard together and all will be well! other then that things are good and Im loving this area still. I am teaching Elder Ortega the area right now and its going pretty good. The first day I was just ready go straight to work and find new people to teach and just teach but Elder Ortega wanted to meet the members first so the first couple of days were rough trying to find members home. but it all worked out I think. haha All is well I love my new comp!! Anywhoo.... thank you so much for the cookies mom it really hit the spot! I loved the cookies! haha and everything! You really know how to make a missionary happy! everything was perfect the shoes will work I think Ill just save them a but cause rain is almost over.. haha But thanks so much! Loved the pictures! OH how i love my family!!! SOOO MUCH.. really.. I have the best family EVER!!! I love my family so so so much! Pray for you all every morning and night! September 19, 2011: Familias Pueden ser juntos para siempre!!!! Como NOSTOTROS... ;)

I love my family! I do I do I do. I love you all and i hope you are all doing super great! We baptized another family this week because... NBF (Nosotros Bautizamos Familias).. Haha Kinda crazy my third change starts this week. Im sad to see Elder Nielson leave but all great companionships come to an end haha But yeah im kinda nervous to see who my new comp will be. oh wells. im also excited for the new great opportunities i will get too! Well I think I just lost ten more pounds this week.. What a rough week for me.. Monday ate some weird chicken food from my cocinera and i thought it was cow the whole time I was eating it then asked her what part of the cow it was cause I couldnt chew or swallow it and she said no its pollo.. of course it was. YUCKY.. I think thats what made me sick for the rest of the week. So monday i was fine. Tuesday. I almost died i was super sick. BU every where... haha wednesday I was fine. thursday same as tuesday just terrible and friday was fine. Saturday... OH my I was done for zero energy and the worst BU ive every had i dont think ive ever been so sick. I had a rough week but thats okay because I topped it off with Sunday. at church Elder Nielson gave a great talk about sacrifice. and how we only have to sacrifice a little compared to the people of the pioneers and things like that great talk and then after church we had a wonderful baptism. It was really great! Loved it. Lots of people stayed for it so it was a special experience for that family! I baptized Hermana Evelyn Donis and Elder Nielson batized Hermano Jorge Donis. Great day! But now ill send some pictures. So I love you all and hope all is well for everyone and remember to delight in the simple things in life. like the sciptures and prayer and church! Hola Familia
Que tal ustedes? haha I love you all n stuff! We had a good week this week! We have a baptism this sunday and Elder Nielson leaves me next wednesday! :( sad.. But also happy for the opportunity I have to gain a new companion and work hard with him! So we went to Antigua for Pday last week and... got there tried to turn on my camera on.. nope.. battery was left at home in the charger! YAY haha Well that was stupid of me. But Im still the same ol me I guess.. I was sad. But it was a great time n stuff loved it! Cool cool place! Anywho it was elections yesterday! Crazy day here in guatemala. Made it a rough day to find people in their houses so we just waited by the place where they voted and contacted people there it was funny! Crazy day though. Not very many came to church either haha funny stuff but good days her in guatemala! But mom your going to do awesome I just know it! I always pray for you n stuff.. Looked like you all had some fun with Michelle and Britton. I hope so. Also I cant really think of anything I need. Maybe a jump drive to load some pictures of you guys on to it so i can to take it to the photo place and print them off! And for the future package a hard drive that i can load all of my picture on it so I wont lose any in some miraculous way. Almost all the missionaries ive talked to have stories about losing pictures and i dont want that. So a Hard drive would be nice in the future. Elder Nielson has one and loves it. Talk to him when he gets home. maybe he will have some ideas of what i need haha i cant think of any. But yeah things are good! Hello Family

How is everyone doing? I hope good cause they should be! That is crazy about Aunt Carol I had no idea she was even sick? Send my love to Mitchell! Where is he going on the mission? I hope he knows theres not a better place to be right now. One of our Assistants lost their mom too when he was in mission. He said there isnt a better place to be for a thing like that to happen. It was still hard But he knew where he was suppose to be and where his mom would want him to be. Thats sad. Well I love you all and miss you all! We have a Baptism on the 18 of september. I am really excited for this family! Familia Donis! They are so ready and I cannot wait for them. They changed so fast! They love the church so much too They always say. We never knew a church could be like that! They love it! They have two kids a 2 year old and a 5 year old they are crazy but super cute. I love the pictures! The boys in the bath thats so funny! I bet water was everywhere! Beckham just wanted to drink all the water it looks like! Oh how old they look already! haha We go to Antigua as a Zone tomorrow so that should be fun! Elder Nielsons parents leave the 21 of september soooo get in contact or something.. And Im not really sure what you sould send.. maybe some efy cds and the joseph smith one? cause I can only listen to 6 songs on my little mp3 player haha but if you send cds ill just buy a cheap little player down here! Well things are good the work is going to be crazy this month because the people will be crazy its elections on sunday and their independence day is the 15 elder nielson says september is nuts haha oh well we will try our hardest! Im four months in and already both my shoes have holes in them I will send pictures of one pair today cause I for got totake pictures and only have one pair on.. Obviously! But maybe you can send a new pair with Elder Nielsons parents but also if you go and show missionary mall for a new pair ask for a pair that are a little more water proof or something. Anywho I love you all! And im gonig to send a shout out to my Grandma Jake Because I love you soo soo soo soo much! We only get pouch like every month and a half and this past week I did and got three letters from Grandma Jake! I love her letters they make me laugh and loved to get Dads thanks so much! Hello my beautiful family!

I love you all so much and just want to Thank you all for everything youve done for me! I cant truly feel the power of your prayers! I have been really thinking and studying about prayer this past week. I Love to pray. I just realized how great it really is. At times we kind of go through the motions. I admit it. Im guilty. But how great it really is when we focus more in our prayers. Like it says in moronis promise we need a Corazon sincero.. a sincere heart in english and verdadera intencion.. true intention... I dont know what it says in english but EVERTIME we pray we need to pray with all we got! Pray with all our hearts! Because prayer is awesome! It is an opportunity to talk and converse with God. and if we listen and ponder while we pray he is always there listening to us. I love it! and i hope you all love prayer as much as me. Its kind of weird lately I have been obsessed with Prayer! I love it.. ANYWHO.. im doing amazing and I love my mission. We had interviews this passed week and they were great! President Brough is AMAZING! He is just such a great man! Filled with love! He is awesome! Interviews are so great with him. He gives such good advise and just leaves me to ponder things for weeks after that are just so great! I love it. But we had a cool lesson with a member this past week id like to share really quick because id like to send some pics. Anyway. theres a family we have been teaching and The dad is a member the rest arent he was baptized when he was 17 and got his call to go on his mission then had to go to the army hasnt gone back since he is now like 40ish. Anywho this recent convert/member was with us and after we taught lesson we asked her to share something and she bore the most awesome testimony ever! The spirit was so strong such a great lesson but first a little background. She was an Evangelist I dont know what their called but theyre really stubborn religious people Evangelios... any who the mom of this family and her went to the same chuch of the Evangelists... And so they knew each other!  it was cool but anyway she bore her testimony and she said something that was just awesome. she said The things ive been searching for in the Evangelio church for all my life i found in the lds church in days.. It was awesome!! anyway I love you all and hope all is well! I love to get pictures n stuff! And i love you all I have 3 minutes to send some pictures... Love you alllll!!

August 22, 2011: HOLAAA

Hello How is everyone? I sure hope just doin dandy! I am doing pretty good over here in Guatemala. I had some pretty bad Bu this passed week but I think im over it now. Bu is the runs/ diarreah haha ANYWHO... It was a pretty great week! Our Zone leaders gave us the Challenge to find a family everyday of this passed week. So we tried.. Started off the week with finding a family monday tuesday and wednesday which are usually the hard days to find people so we were pumped to find families these first three days.. Thursday Friday and Saturday citas fell like rain here and looks like in provo too! But we had great lessons those days with other investigadors. Saturday was Elder Nielsons birthday and so it was a fun day we woke up and made creps and then took a bunch of pictures funny ones then that night our most wonder family who we love so much threw him a suprise party thing it was super funny! I forgot my camera but I will send pictures next week! They are great! Sunday was a great day! I love Sundays they always seem like the best days for the work! I love it! But then this past week it rained like crazy and both our umbrellas broke so.. WE GO SOAKED haha it is crazy rain here but its great! Baby Alexandria is super duper cute!! Good work Stef.. and i guess Zach haha but She looks tiny! She is too cute! I love the pictues! Thanks I love to get pictures! And thanks mom I was wondering where Zac Hayward got his call thats crazy and he leaves the same time as Jerry? Well I love you all and I hope all is well foreveryone! I love you all so much! We have a great family progressing Family Donis so keep them in your prayers cause they live with her mom and everytime we leave she just calls us liars and just rips on us a bunch but they are a great family and came to church yesterday and loved it so Im excited for them! Remember, my wonderful family, do the simple things! They really are just the simple things yet so powerful!! Go to church! Read, and Pray! Its really that simple and things in life will be even more amazing! It will be easier to choose the right and Joy will fill your hearts because of the truthfullness of this Gospel and of this true church! This is gonna be quick because i wanna try and send some pictures but.. Things are well here. Rain is comin down like crazy the streets are rivers so there is nothing i can really do haha BUT SWIM just keep swimming swimming!! Its all good though the Lightning you ask? COOLEST STUFF EVERERRERERE hahaha Right above our heads its so cool But the thunder is loud so I dont think Molly would like it very muchh haha.. jks But all is well here we have a great family we found Family Donis They are great Every lesson the spirit is just so strong! Tears always fill their eyes because i know they feel the spirit too! They love it! ITs so great teaching them they are progressing fast! Hello

How is everyone doing? I hope good! Because I sure am! The mission is pretty great! I love it! This past week was a great week! Well besides the fact that our trio buddy Elder Dardon left yesterday for Peru. Elder Nielson and I are going to miss him! haha At first i didnt want it but then we all became best friends.. At first he didnt talk at all then we broke him out of his shell and he became as crazy as us. haha it was great but its all good he will be a great missionary in Peru. Sounds like you have had some good marriages? Thats great... I bet the flowers were just amazing! Anywho thats pretty great! Quick question... Is Molly Jane alive and well or are you guys hiding something from me? Im kinda curious... But HEY no big deal right... well kinda... Anywho... We have a fecha with Juan Alberto on the 21st... pretty great! I cant wait. He is a great guy. We had a pretty good week this past week.. We found 4 new families and 13 new investigators. It was a pretty solid week. But Saturday was probably the roughest day ever! Nobody wanted anything from us.. It was so weird we were just super down.. About ready to go home at like 830. Decided to knock one more door and before we even knocked a man answered and said did you knock? and we were like we were about to.. haha It was kinda weird but then hes like well... come on in.. So we went in and taught his family hopefully this family has some great potential! A mom and dad with their 3 children.. Great stuff.. Anyway how is the family? I loved the family pictures everyone is just growing right up! Kinda crazy! haha But Elder Nielsons Brother got married on saturday and for the wedding they had a cardboard cut out of him.. It was funny! Yeah I took the picture so i was pretty much a part of the wedding.. But yeah he was kinda bummed because his brother didnt wait just one more month for him to come home. haha But time sure is flying by. Ive already been in the field for one change! Thats crazy. Seems like just yesterday i entered! But this wednesday is Change meeting so we will be getting new zone leader and also a new AP. Tomorrow for our Zone leaders last pday we are going to a turf legit soccer field and playing a game. It will be legit! haha Im excited! Well I hope all the fam is good? Rain is crazy makes big Rivers in the streets. My shoes you ask.. lets just say they were made for dry weather haha o well I best be getting used to wet socks. I would use my boots but you never know if its going to rain that day or not... so its annoying. I wore my boots and it didnt rain. The next day i didnt rained like crazy haha oh well! Not sure what to do. Then also I think president just made a rule about boots and so im not sure if mine qualify or not.. :/ oops.. HAPPPY BIRTHDAY BRITTON TOMORROW!!!! YAYA!! What a stud! Tell him I love him and there will be something in the mail prolly for him.. I hope soon havent sent it yet but i will! And Also I would like to have a list or like something with everyone around my age serving and the mission they are in or are going to.. You could prolly give that assignment to Jeremiah or something and tell him to write me!! WELL Love you all and will hopefully send some pictures next week! Welp cya later..

Hello my family! Sounds like you all had a great time for moms birthday! That is great! To answer dads questions.. Allergies are great! Like one or two break outs but not bad I just take a pill and sqirt some nose spray and im on my way... I only work with other missionarys like 3 or 4 times in a change because my comp is a district leader he goes to random meetings so i work with other elders in my zone. Then divisions every wednesday night with the ward but weve only done it once. I went with Bishop he is an awesome guy I love him! We went and taught our recent converts The Paz family and then some less active members! We gave a blessing to one of the mothers of the family she has been struggling lately but it was good! I love my ward. For P-Days it usually consists of going to the stake center at 8 meeting our zone there and just play our little hearts out! soccer volleyball or basketball its great fun. this past Pday we had a dress up time with ugly ugly clothes we were suppose to buy some in the Pacas but we never had time to do so. so monday night we asked Family Paz after Noche Hogar if they had some ugly clothes and they hooked us up haha it was funny. I had like a tight tight shirt that said Unionist its like a politics thing here. and A Bright orange vest for like crossing guards and a hard hat with tight tight pants it was great! Haha fun stuff... Then after we all played dress up we played water balloon volleyball. that was way fun too and then we went and ate at like 1 at mcdonalds... then went and got Elder Nielsons new suit fitted and im getting some sweet grey pants.. Im excited.. But other then that we just play and play then chill till 5 then get back to work. Great stuff. Anywho this past week was great! We have Family Moreno and Juan Alberto that we will prolly baptize this month! I love them they are great! Fam Moreno are a great couple their names are hard so i wont even try ahah but they are great! We just have to get them married now and then they will get baptized. Juan.. what a great guy! He has the most GLORIOUS mustache I have ever seen haha I love to teach him just so i can look at his mustache. haha No but really he is great! He is one of those guys that just agrees to everything but he is slowly understand the importance of our message and how great it really is! He will be ready here in about a week or so! I love him great guy. Sorry i have no punctuation or anything i kinda feel like that stuff is for the birds if you get what i mean. Anywho.. The people in Guatemala really are ready for the Gospel! I love it. I just greif inside when people say no it kills me! Because I know some where in them they know.. They really want to be like Just baptize me already they just dont have the guts to say it.. haha But some are ready and when we teach you can tell... just like the apostles say. The gospel really does have a familiar ring to it. And when they hear that ring you can see it in their faces it is super great I am loving Teaching these people! I love it! Oh how true this gospel is. OH HOW GREAT IT IS!! We had a great opportunity to go to the temple this weekend as well. IT was great! we went with the ward. It was their ward conference this weekend so we had an activity friday night got some investigators to come it was good. then saturday morning we went to the temple. Yeah we went at 4 in the morning! haha We had to wake up at 245. kinda rough but worth it. We were able to go because it was our recent converts first time and they were going to do baptisms and we were going to baptize them but we got there 5 minutes too late so that was sad. But they loved it and walked around the temple and felt the spirit still. We did a session and it was great! That afternoon was just a fun noon we played basketball and soccer with the ward had lots of investigatos come and play and hit some piñatas it was super fun! that was good for our investigators and then sunday had the stake president there and it was really great! They extended our ward boundries so now we have a larger area but thats good cause a larger ward too! went from like 100 attending sacrament meeting to 165 attended yesterday it was great! Loving it But I got super sick yesterday! YAY haha My testimony grew.... We knocked a door and i told my comps if we get it Theres no way Im going to make it out of there without somethin extra in my pantelones so i just warned em.. sure enough we got it.. OH MY how i was praying.. We gave a good 30 minute lesson of me just holding on for dear life. Then we ended and some how with lots of stops and slow walking made it back to the house! But that holding for so long just made me sicker then ever I had no energy but I really saw the Lords hand in helping me yesterday no lie! haha I love you all and I hope all is well! I just love you ALL SOOO MUCH!! You are all the bestest! Much love and hope to hear from my sisters soon... July 25, 2011: Hola

Hola everybody!

How is everyone doing? I hope well! Happy Birthday to Grandma Jacobs TODAY! Wish could be there! Go party it up for me GMizzle.. Love you all! Im excited for you all to be together! that will be so fun for moms birthday! I hate to say this but it wont be the same.. Sorry.. Im just the life of the party lets be honest.. ;) jokes.. haha but i hope it is a blast! happy birthday MOMMYY... the big 50... haha thats kinda weird. haha just kidding. Well this week was a great week. We worked hard.. It was awesome! We also had interviews con Preident Brough. that was great! I had a good interview. My comp gave me some good tips on it. He said dont just let the interview be boring and normal ask president questions you have but from the heart so I learned some great things from president and it was just the greatest interview ive ever had it was great. Well I Dont have the address to my house and i was told if i did you would really be able to find it on google maps cause it doesnt have the streets n stuff for guatemala but I live in Ciudad Del Sol and the colony I live in is called Villa Sur. I guess you can look that up i think. But yeah mom i will send more picture i just gotta figure it out my comp will show me. But I love it down here. We knock doors alot and every family we see in the street we contact because out missions theme is N.B.F. Nosotros Bautizamos Familias. Because thats how we roll! haha its really great. The memebers are good.. some of them We have agreat ward. The Bishop is a good good guy he is pretty young he is awesome i went on divisions with him on last wednesday night that was great! And I just love our ward great people. Well lets see what i eat you ask. Well in our fridge you will find tortillas black beans eggs and cheese... you do the math. I LOVE IT.. haha pretty much what we live on besides the occasional Taco Bell but thats just to get their sauce so we can put it on our egg bean and cheese tacos every morning and night but for lunch we have cocineras they cook good stuff usually meet with rice its great or just different things my favorite so far is Pollo y crema. its pretty good.. but yesterday we had the stuff that zach makes with beans hotdogs and bacon i think but it had like ribs in it it was good eats just reminded me of home i loved it. Corn tortillas for every meal as well i cant eat lunch with out a corn tortilla in hand. non of this fake corn tortillas like in the states just the legit great ones i love em! haha freshly made eery day! Im fed well but Still losing weight no se por que. Well I love you all.. Keep praying for me! My spanish is getting better everyday! Its pretty great! We actually got a visa waiter with us now. Hes from Retahulehu here in Guatemala gonig to Peru. He is nice and helps me with spanish haha its great opportunity to practice we will see how long he will be with us. there is an Elder in our zone suppose to go to England has been in our mission for six months haha i hope its  not like that but we be riding 3 sum right now. hah its great but yeah I Love you all and remember READ THE BOOK OF MORMON.. It changes lives on the daily down here and i know it can always change our lives I LOVE IT. Well love ya...

July 18, 2011: Hola

Hola mi familia. How is everybody doing? Hope all is well in Utah. First off Happy Birthday Father this saturday! Hugs and kiss! ;) Things are well down here. Dont worry I spray my lion protection on every morning so there wont be any attacking me. But maybe dogs. YUCKY YUCKY Dogs and they are EVERYWHEREEEE. I feel so bad for them they look so sad and yucky and just wish i could do something but they are all diseased and Dr. McAurthur said that every dog, animal is sent from HELL to injure missionaries haha he is a crazy fella. But Some nights I get scared when the dogs chase us but Im learning good techniques to fight them off. Anywho the work is good. Spanish is..... lets just say i try... Apparently im understood but I dont think they understand my language prolly just the Spirit. Which is good id rather have them listen to the Spirit instead of me. But this past week was good on thursday i went on my first divisions with an elder that i entered with Elder Bardales. He is awesome. So two nuevos just doin our thing. It was a good experience though. Fun to go to a new area and see where they roam. Its super great though today I am on another division with one of my zone leaders Elder Martinez. It should be a great night i am excited to work with him and learn from him. Maybe teach him some english haha. But its great he said we got some great citas this night so im excited. Sorry im always kind of random I just type. But anywho we had a lesson last wednesday in english haha it was crazy.. This guy is crazy but he graduated from Boston College and just loves to speak english. He is awesome we taught him and got another day to come teach him but then all of a sudden he called us and told us he is moving? haha not we saw his mom in the street and she was like uhh i know nothing of that and so he called us this morning and said i dont want anything to do with your religion and to never talk to his family again... haha it was super funny and there is more to the story but he is a crazy guy. hes like 48 and lives with his mom cause his family cant live with him in Guatemala cause it is too dangerous and so they live in mexico and he sees them only once a year kinda sad but hes crazy. He asked me to give the first prayer and it was really hard for me to come up with words for an english prayer. I dont remember the last time i gave a pray out loud in english. It was kinda weird haha. Great fun though. I love my area. I have two cocineras Hna. Chavez.. She is super funny always just makes fun of me and hits me if i ever speak english in her house I love her and her family she has 4 boys and 1 girl. They are awesome little niños. Then Hna. Gladis Juarez she is super nice goood food at both places i love it. My house is good size for two people but people have 5 families in what we live in. We are super blessed.. we live in like a gated area so its pretty nice ill have to send pictures. And then lets see I dont have the address to my house but i will get that to you dad. And We have a great family in Family Perez and they are progressing fast but they bailed on church yesterday so we were sad. But they will be baptized soon I know it haha they are great. Hermano Oscar the husband is PILAS. He just wants to read the book of mormon all the way through and he says he gets respuestas every night on how true our religion is! I LOVE IT. But we are just working with his wife now she has a hard time waiting for answers she says she just mummbles prayers then goes to sleep so she just needs to be more patient but he is trying.. Well I love you all and pray for you all EVERY morning and night. Its crazy how much Beckham and Britton have already changed! I love it. I love you all and hope you all know that. The CHURCH IS TRUEEEE. LOVE YOUUUUU and jake seminary teacher.. thats AWESOME you will be the best EVAHHHH.. pumped for you! PILAS!

Hey Crew
I email on Mondays... :( no emails for me....
This week was pretty awesome! We had a  baptism!  It was super great! Familia Paz Alan,  Claudia and Stephani. They are awesome. Alan the  father asked me to Baptize him. So I had the privledge to particitpate in my first baptism! It was SUPER great! I was so Lucky. They are going to be  great members of the church I am so excited for them! Elder Nielson and I each gave Alan a tie. He wore mine on sunday! Yeah he likes me better haha jokes... But yeah so things are great here! No one here can say Moon so i just tell them all in español Elder Luna so that helps them remember my name! HA its funny! But I love  love love my area! Its just so  great! The ward is awesome! We have great people that are always willing to help us. Guatemala is just super great! Im so  lucky to be serving the Lord here! This week was great though.  We had some great lessons. one was to this old old guy. he is a fiel miembro and we just went to visit him in the rest home!  it was  great he just talked to us and we taught him lesson one but his eyes are crazy the whole time he was looking at both me and my companion but we werent even sitting by each other haha one eye on me one eye on my comp it was great! He is such a great person can hardly walk but is a church every week and  Elder Nielson says he reads his scriptures more then anyone he knows.  We also took him some food cuz he said the he  gets  fed dinner at 4 and he is always hungry before bed haha he hates it. Spanish is slowly getting better! Slowly but surely. I am understanding so much better now. Its just difficuly because my gospel spanish is good but my street spanish is no bueno haaha but im slowly learning it all I love it! My  comp is the man! I love him so much! He is just super great!  But WOW I cant  believe it I already dont recognize Beckham. He looks super different with his hair cut haha but still baller status OJ just how i left him. Well I hope everything is  great back home. I got burnt so bad last Pday it was kinda rediculous. haha We  played soccer all day and I dominated lets be honest haha okay im lying im  not so good at soccer but i try and i score so  thats good. but i l ove it. the Latinos i entered with some are in my zone and they  say i look really delgado now. haha I guess im losing it already haha but I love this work!  And I couldnt ask for better place comp or anything to be honest! I  am loving life! I hope all is well back home I miss you all and want to hear from yall n stuff.. Theres my texas slang comin out again...  I learned that from Jake.. haha Love you all! YAY! I willl try and say more cool things next week i dont really know what to write im sorry im boring. But I love you all and stuff!
