September 5th, 2012: My Family

Dearest Family,

How is everyone doing? I hope super good! The wedding looked like a one to remember! Looks like everyone had fun. Havent heard from alot of you in sometime. But thats okay. Life is busy I know! I am doing super good though! A miracle happened this past weekend! We were blessed to be able to have one baptism! We were so excited and humbled at the same time. This truly is his work! Saturday night my companion and I and also the other missionaries were kind of bumed because all four of our baptisms had fallen. Everyone told us they just didnt feel prepared. We were kind of sad but we also had faith in the Lord. Sunday came around and we still werent having a baptism. After church, the other missionaries had to get ready for their baptism that was at 6. They took all their baptismal clothes to the ward mission leaders house. His daughter was one of the baptisms that we were suppose to have. She had told us that she will go to the baptism but will not be baptized yet. But while the other missionaries were there they decided to talk to her for a bit. They had a quick lesson and the spirit was there they said. She had still said no throughout the lesson. At the End they said Well will you go to the baptism. and she said yes. Then they asked will you go to the baptism dressed in white? After thinking for a bit she said yes. I will be baptized today! Haha. It was awesome they called us and told us how we are going to have a baptism as well! We didnt believe them but it was true! What a blessing from the Lord. I know it was from all the prayers that were said for her from her family, our family, my comps family, and all of us missionaries. Prayer is such a powerful tool we have as missionaries! It was a neat weekend. I felt very very blessed!
Well the mission is going good so far in the goal for 300 baptisms in September. We had 93 baptisms this past weekend! We have 65 baptismal dates and so we are doing good so far! We thought we were going to have more in this first weekend but we still had lots! Satan was sure working hard. President Brough told us office elders that he has never seen satan working harder! It was kind of a crazy weekend but it was great! We had a lot of baptisms fall the first weekend but hopefully they still will come through! Our district will have alot of baptisms! President expects no less than 30 from us. So as a district we put 33. That 11 every companionship! Its going to be hard but I know that we are going to be able to do it! We just have to trust in the Lord! I know that we are going to be able to do it! Just got to keep the hope and the faith! I cant wait! Its going to pass by really fast! Well we just have to keep working hard and pray for the best! The office is going good as well. Its pretty much the same work every week. Dats, baptismal records and pouch! Its great though.
Well I sure hope you all know how much I love each one of you! It was crazy to see Britton talking like a crazy man looks like he is just growing right up! Crazy! Same with Ham and Alex and Brynlee. What cool kids right? Well I sure miss you all as well and hope to hear from you soon! Thanks for all that you do and keep on keeping on family!! Remember.. The Lord lives and loves us so much. This work is his and is oh so true! Families can and will be together forever! Im so lucky to be able to have the greatest family on earth!! I love you all and will continue to serve with all that I got. It will all be worth it! Much love!

Hey family! I am doing great! The office has been really busy! Also we have been working really hard outside of the offie! I feel really tired! But I know it will all pay off! We have for baptismal dates for this week but when we visited them last night we could tell that satan had been working really hard with them and so they are having some doubts! Thats okay though. If they didnt have any Id be worried soo.. im worried any of the ways! But all we can do is pray pray pray! Thats exactly what im going to do! YAY! Yall should too! I sure do love the mission! It just full of ups and downs! I couldnt be happier. I really love this work with all my heart! My companion Elder Walbeck is still sick with his headaches and it makes me sad because i just want him to feel better. I hope all of you can pray for him because I dont want him to go home. Cant believe that I already have 16 months in the mission! It is really passing way too fast! So gotta make them worth it! This month of september we have the goal as a mission to baptize 300. That is ALOT. That will set the new record for out mission! The Mission already had 120 baptismal dates for september! Its so great! We are working so hard and i know that we are going to be able to do it! hopefully I can do my part and find lots and lots to baptize!! Well i gotta go but i love you all just a quick note! ill write more next week! PRAY for our baptisms this sunday love you all!""

August 16th, 2012: Family

Dearest Family,

HELLOOO... Well how is everyone doing?? I sure hope good!! I am doing great! The work is going good and so is the office. Changes is next week. Its cool because we already
know them all before everyone else! We knew last saturday. Kind of funny because everyone tries to call and ask to know them but we cant say a word! This coming week will be a crazy one but it sure will be fun. After changes it will be only 4 of us in the house so that will be nice and different! Elder Walbeck will be staying and he will be staying with me in the office I am so happy!! I love him! It will be nice not to be in a trio anymore! We have the Stake president and his family in our ward and its super great! Every Monday night we have family night there and we always bring families that are investigating the church and it is always so amazing! And great food of course! They are the greatest family! I love this area! We have a great family that will be baptized here soon. The family Lopez they are great! A family of 6 all above 8 so that will be awesome if we can help them enter the waters of baptism! Pray for them PLEASE! We are working so hard with them. This week we are really working hard to get over 50 lessons. Its kind of hard as an office elder but we are going to do it! its going to be awesome! I know that will help us with our goals that we have in september! We have a huge goal in september that we are going to achieve! We have put the goal to baptize 300! That is ALOT. The most the mission has ever done is 227 in January! We are going to kill it though and get it in september! I just know it! I have been able to go on fun/long car rides with President Brough! It sure is fun to be able to talk to him. I learn so much from him! I was able to have my interview as well and that went really well. He truly is an inspired man! I love it!
Yesterday we were able to take a Pday as an office and it was super duper fun!! We all went to the ZOO and we alot of videos and pictures I will send some today! The monkeys were the best part! One of them touched Elder Walbeck and its the funniest video! Ill send that to you all. We all had a ball! But it was a great zoo we were all very pleased! There were a lot of people there n stuff as well!! We saw tigers and lions and monkeys and bears and giraffes and all types of cool birds and animals it was fun! The funny thing was was when we would walk by people they would look at us 6 gringos instead of the animals! IT was funny!! But we were kind of screaming like little girls and just having the times of our lives but thats okay! After the zoo we went to work and my companion got hit by a car! It was really scary but after really funny. He got hit fell down jumped back up super mad and the person tried to get out of the car to help but he just slammed the door on him! haha it was nuts but he was fine! Just super mad at the car! Also like a week ago I saw two motorcyles hit each other so me and my comp went and helped. Elder Walbeck pulled one motorcycle off a guys leg. That guy was a little hurt. The other two that didnt have helmets werent hurt but just left when the medics got there. Guatemala is crazy! Where I come from thats not legal! Oh well! But its been quite the adventure with Elder Walbeck! I love the kid!
Welp I hope all of you are just enjoying the time together! I sure do love being a missionary! It is the greatest thing I have ever done! Bringing souls unto Christ! I sure hope to serve my Lord and Savior until the end! I love this work! I love all of you and I am so excited for Molly Jane and Jeffery and hope to see lots of pictures and videos!! I love them all!!! Well I love you all family and Keep on being great!!! Welp the church is true and dont yall forget it!!
