October 10, 2011: Hey

Hello my family,

How are things going for everyone? I hope good! Im doing.... alright.. but at the same time im doing amazing! I love my mission and am learning things daily. Its hard with my companion though I dont like it at all Im not going to lie. I dont know why. He is so double sided. I cant stand it. But I dont want to complain. I am just trying to learn from him. A thing i try to tell him is that we teach people not lessons. He just does the same contact with every person same lesson with every person. Kinda drives me crazy. He doesnt trust me either so do I ever get to talk.... no he never gives me time I always have to cut him off haha he gets mad but I dont know what else to do.... But hey Im happy! I love my mission and love the members in my area. Its really funny the members try to joke with my comp and he just doesnt do jokes I find it hilarious but he just has the roughest personality. haha oh well Im trying to take the good qualities he has. Not the bad. Its hard not to be down in the dumps though sometimes. But we are trying to work on our relationship. I hope haha but anywho I love all of you and I dont mean to complain. I love him and love this work. Its great. I just love divisions that much more haha Well we have Conferencia de Zona this wednesday with Elder Martino so that will be good Im excited for that! We hopefully will have a baptism on the 23rd but its gonna need some prayers. haha Hermana sylvia and her daughter. They still dont feel prepared enough but I know they are ready! I sure hope we can help them feel ready. Other then that we are working hard and trying to find people to teach but its just weird how Elder Ortega works. Not a smart worker.. Hard worker but not a smart worker. I am trying to make things better and help organize and be smarter in our work but he does what he wants because hes got 20 months a district leader.. I have not even 6.. haha He knows all right? Oh well just gotta keep on working hard. Other then that things are great! Sorry I never said much about the stuff you sent me! I loved all of it. The beef jerkey was perfect for conference and the hand sanitizer I love them so much haha so does everyone else all the little kids just want some haha they love it too and of course I share so they have gone fast but i still have bunch left. haha I love it. The cookies were perfect! The sun flower seeds keep me awake during studies haha thats good! The mints were way good! The shoes are better but im gonna save them for special occaciones so I can have some good shoes but these other shoes are just breaking down fast. haha oh well! poprocks are great! haha thanks so much again! Well I love you all and Pray for you all morning and Night! I loved the pictures and would love more I love my family so much and love to show you all off. Everytime I see these little niños I just think about my little niños haha I miss so much! I love you all though and just keep praying! Spanish is better still really rough but better. Pray that my comp may talk with me and walk with me and help me with spanish so that i can become better at speaking! haha Hope all is good for you all! Remember that this church is true! I wish you all could see all these false churches down here Its crazy how many and how apostasy they are haha but its sad when people compare the church of jesus christ of latter day saints to these other churches. Its sad. People have hard times going to our church because we dont have a band that plays and we dont jump up and down and scream to our songs. Its sad but Thats why we are here to help these people understand the truth! I love these people andlove this area. I love all of you and hope to hear from you all soon! Much love and prayers!

October 3, 2011: Hola

Well hello my family...
Conference was the GREATEST! I loved every minute of it and just soaked it all in took 21 pages of notes to look at until the lihona comes out next month! haha Super great though. It went by super duper fast though.. Way too fast But it was totally worth it! Thats good you got to see Elder Nielson. I love him and will be forever greatful for him! Beckham looks good in that jersey haha I thought they were pretty cool so i had to get them! I hope we all realized this passed conference the inportance of the Book of Mormon.. We need to feast daily from its teachings and it will be much easier for us to endure to the end! I loved Elder Callisters talk. It was probably my favorite! But they were all super great! I loved them all. President Monson was just crazy as ever we were all just dying laughing! haha Elder Holland really threw all the aaronic Priesthood holders for a whirl! We do need more missionaries that is for sure! I loved his talk too. I just loved conference all together! It was good to get a quick break from my comp.. I hate to say that but it was good.. haha I love my comp. we work hard. Hes just not lovin the big guy. He doesnt like to laugh and joke and smile so its really hard for me. because thats all I do!!!!!!!! How can I stop that? I cant right? I hope he doesnt take it from me.. But things will get better! I just wish he would let me speak sometimes... He loves to talk though... haha and sing.. Loud.. so it scares the spirit away and really tone def.. haha okay Im done i love him. I just got to adjust. Its just really different now. haha But thats okay Things will be good we work hard and thats all I want outta of him! Im surprised no one said anything about the tabernacle!! or is this old news?? I was in AWE!! I couldnt believe my ears!!! I was so excited to hear that! The Lord surely had things in store with that building. So many memories there! I love it. Stake conference there and all those great things now.. when i get home... I can get married there.. But lets pray that I will be home before its dedicated I would love to be there! I am so excited for that! I Love it two temples in provo! SO great! Im still in awe... I was the most surprised one there though. My zone leader.. who i love so much and talks like a hick even when he speaks spanish.. about started to cry when he said Star Valley, Wyoming. We had just had divisions and he told me all about his little community. haha I asked so what city do you live in? he said oh I dont live in a city.. Its called a community haha it was hilarious but he said a bunch of these little communities make up star valley. Then when they announced that he was so shocked! He was like i dont think you realize how small that place is.. ha ha it was hilarious! We were all just lovin it! haha BUt it was definately a great conference weekend. The Gringo room was great! Loved it! We have a fecha meta for a family 15 of octubre so pray for Sylvia and Monica Hernandez. The father is already a member was baptized when he was 17. named Edinilson almost Elder Nielson haha but he is so awesome I love him. when we first found him he was like yeah im a member.. I think haha then like the 3 visit with them he was like look what I found and it was a note book with his testimony and the missionaries that baptized him and just his life and how great it was being a member! Brought back so many memories and now he remembers it all and Love s church once again! He is so awesome he wrote Elder Nielson and I letters and just always thanks us for bringing him back. He had his mission call and everything to Nicuragua Sur but couldnt go cause he had to enter the army and in the army completely forgot about the church but now he is super great. Now were just trying on getting his daughter and his wife baptized! Hes great though we went and got him for Priesthood session and he loved it! I love that family I sure hope we can prepare them for the 15th she keeps saying she doesnt feel ready but we will try our best to get here there! Great family! We just got to stress prayer. Prayer is the only way we can get prepared.. But sorry about this horrible grammar I hope im making sense I just feel like I have no time! Well I love you all and hope to hear from you all soon! September 28, 2011: My family is the greatest family EVAHHH

Well.. Hello family..
This past week was a kind of crazy week! But it was good! It was really hard to say goodbye to Elder Nielson.I learned so much from him and was so lucky to have him as a companion. He taught me so many things I will never forget and really prepared me to have a successfull mission! He is awesome! Gained a new best friend in the process too! I sure hope you will have him over for family dinners and things like that cause he really wants to get to know you guys haha.. Great guy though Love him. His family is awesome too! I met his family on sunday night cause they came and visited the area. His parents said they loved meeting you mom and dad. His dad told me after they left they felt like they just got done visiting long lost old friends. felt like youve been friends forever! haha I laughed and said yep thats my mom and dad. I also said my dad loves to talk alot. Brother Nielson laughed and said well Im a good listener haha.. Great family though! Good to see Elder Nielson one more time though! His flight left Guatemala this morning at 8. I think that would be fun to have parents come and visit all your areas with you... hint hint.. start saving your pesos! haha Jokes jokes but it was great! Well I also recieved my new companion.. His name is Elder Ortega.. He is from Panama. A very hard working missionary! I love it. Im happy he is cause I was worried to get a latin companion cause sometimes they are chambones... But he works hard! but a couple of things that drive me nuts.. He is always sooo serious in the streets and he never walks with me... makes me kind of sad.. so its hard to be my energetic self always with him but hope fully it will get better! I keep telling him when were in the streets we need to be happy and a strong companionship. Cause when were with people he is really happy and a great guy but when its just me and him he seems like mad.. haha I dont know what to do.. He doesnt really like my jokes either. But hey no big deal! Im a be me and theres nothing he can do about it! haha No but Im not complaining Im excited for this opportunity to work with him because he works hard and it will be a great time with him! President told me on monday because we had a meeting with him that he put me with him so I can learn spanish.. He said if you can get to the point where you can understand him clearly you can understand anyone because he talks kind of weird but thing are good I understand him most of the time already so it will be good.. He likes to cut off the ends of words but its all good! We will work hard together and all will be well! other then that things are good and Im loving this area still. I am teaching Elder Ortega the area right now and its going pretty good. The first day I was just ready go straight to work and find new people to teach and just teach but Elder Ortega wanted to meet the members first so the first couple of days were rough trying to find members home. but it all worked out I think. haha All is well I love my new comp!! Anywhoo.... thank you so much for the cookies mom it really hit the spot! I loved the cookies! haha and everything! You really know how to make a missionary happy! everything was perfect the shoes will work I think Ill just save them a but cause rain is almost over.. haha But thanks so much! Loved the pictures! OH how i love my family!!! SOOO MUCH.. really.. I have the best family EVER!!! I love my family so so so much! Pray for you all every morning and night! Love my family! glad i have more pictures now so i can show you off you everyone!! "All because two people fell in love" super cute the photo album haha... Anywhooooo thanks forevery thing! I love you all and I hope all of you are just as excited for this General Conference weekend as i am. I AM SOOO EXCITED! haha all the gringo missionaries say its the best weekend every we just feast in the gringo room and listen to the voice of the Prophet! Im so excited! September 19, 2011: Familias Pueden ser juntos para siempre!!!! Como NOSTOTROS... ;)

I love my family! I do I do I do. I love you all and i hope you are all doing super great! We baptized another family this week because... NBF (Nosotros Bautizamos Familias).. Haha Kinda crazy my third change starts this week. Im sad to see Elder Nielson leave but all great companionships come to an end haha But yeah im kinda nervous to see who my new comp will be. oh wells. im also excited for the new great opportunities i will get too! Well I think I just lost ten more pounds this week.. What a rough week for me.. Monday ate some weird chicken food from my cocinera and i thought it was cow the whole time I was eating it then asked her what part of the cow it was cause I couldnt chew or swallow it and she said no its pollo.. of course it was. YUCKY.. I think thats what made me sick for the rest of the week. So monday i was fine. Tuesday. I almost died i was super sick. BU every where... haha wednesday I was fine. thursday same as tuesday just terrible and friday was fine. Saturday... OH my I was done for zero energy and the worst BU ive every had i dont think ive ever been so sick. I had a rough week but thats okay because I topped it off with Sunday. at church Elder Nielson gave a great talk about sacrifice. and how we only have to sacrifice a little compared to the people of the pioneers and things like that great talk and then after church we had a wonderful baptism. It was really great! Loved it. Lots of people stayed for it so it was a special experience for that family! I baptized Hermana Evelyn Donis and Elder Nielson batized Hermano Jorge Donis. Great day! But now ill send some pictures. So I love you all and hope all is well for everyone and remember to delight in the simple things in life. like the sciptures and prayer and church! LOVE YOU ALLL next time ill write ill have a new comp! CRAZY!! Love yall

Hola Familia
Que tal ustedes? haha I love you all n stuff! We had a good week this week! We have a baptism this sunday and Elder Nielson leaves me next wednesday! :( sad.. But also happy for the opportunity I have to gain a new companion and work hard with him! So we went to Antigua for Pday last week and... got there tried to turn on my camera on.. nope.. battery was left at home in the charger! YAY haha Well that was stupid of me. But Im still the same ol me I guess.. I was sad. But it was a great time n stuff loved it! Cool cool place! Anywho it was elections yesterday! Crazy day here in guatemala. Made it a rough day to find people in their houses so we just waited by the place where they voted and contacted people there it was funny! Crazy day though. Not very many came to church either haha funny stuff but good days her in guatemala! But mom your going to do awesome I just know it! I always pray for you n stuff.. Looked like you all had some fun with Michelle and Britton. I hope so. Also I cant really think of anything I need. Maybe a jump drive to load some pictures of you guys on to it so i can to take it to the photo place and print them off! And for the future package a hard drive that i can load all of my picture on it so I wont lose any in some miraculous way. Almost all the missionaries ive talked to have stories about losing pictures and i dont want that. So a Hard drive would be nice in the future. Elder Nielson has one and loves it. Talk to him when he gets home. maybe he will have some ideas of what i need haha i cant think of any. But yeah things are good! Im excited for my baptism it will be great! ill send pictures next week of antigua and baptism cause im out of time again. Love you all! Hope to hear from you all soon!

September 5, 2011: Hola

Hello Family

How is everyone doing? I hope good cause they should be! That is crazy about Aunt Carol I had no idea she was even sick? Send my love to Mitchell! Where is he going on the mission? I hope he knows theres not a better place to be right now. One of our Assistants lost their mom too when he was in mission. He said there isnt a better place to be for a thing like that to happen. It was still hard But he knew where he was suppose to be and where his mom would want him to be. Thats sad. Well I love you all and miss you all! We have a Baptism on the 18 of september. I am really excited for this family! Familia Donis! They are so ready and I cannot wait for them. They changed so fast! They love the church so much too They always say. We never knew a church could be like that! They love it! They have two kids a 2 year old and a 5 year old they are crazy but super cute. I love the pictures! The boys in the bath thats so funny! I bet water was everywhere! Beckham just wanted to drink all the water it looks like! Oh how old they look already! haha We go to Antigua as a Zone tomorrow so that should be fun! Elder Nielsons parents leave the 21 of september soooo get in contact or something.. And Im not really sure what you sould send.. maybe some efy cds and the joseph smith one? cause I can only listen to 6 songs on my little mp3 player haha but if you send cds ill just buy a cheap little player down here! Well things are good the work is going to be crazy this month because the people will be crazy its elections on sunday and their independence day is the 15 elder nielson says september is nuts haha oh well we will try our hardest! Im four months in and already both my shoes have holes in them I will send pictures of one pair today cause I for got totake pictures and only have one pair on.. Obviously! But maybe you can send a new pair with Elder Nielsons parents but also if you go and show missionary mall for a new pair ask for a pair that are a little more water proof or something. Anywho I love you all! And im gonig to send a shout out to my Grandma Jake Because I love you soo soo soo soo much! We only get pouch like every month and a half and this past week I did and got three letters from Grandma Jake! I love her letters they make me laugh and loved to get Dads thanks so much! But hey I love you all and Hope all is well with you all! Hugs and Kisses!!!! The church is true and so is this work and this work will never fail!!! The work will always go on!
