May 8, 2012: Family

Hello Family..

   Well first off I just want to say Happy Birthday to my brother Jake! Way to go! Proud of you!. Hope all your wildest dreams came true! Also this week Happy Mothers day! CANNOT WAIT! Its gonna be fun! Anywho this past week was good. The third week in a row that I got to stand at the pulpet to speak to the ward. I love it! My first three weeks I have been able to do that! I have really talked about the importance of working with the members and its helped alot. The members now seem like they really are willing to help. We were able to teach a brother of one of the members here and he is awesome. He grew up in Washington DC and he totally looks like he is from the mafia and talks like it but we are gonig to baptize him. He will be here in Guate for another year or so and he finally wants to hear from the missionaries. His sister is so AWESOME. She has a son also in the mission. Im not sure what happen to her husband but shes great! We had the first lesson with him on sunday and he is awesome! During the lesson he really understood great. It was really an emocional lesson. The sister is so happy and so is he. He came to church that day and loved it so things are awesome. At the end of the lesson we got him to pray and it was awesome. He couldnt finish because he was so choked up and we all felt the spirit so strong. It was awesome. We all shed some tears together. I love it. Just pray for him. his name is Fernando. He will be baptized here soon we just gotta teach him lots. But anywho it was great. Well I dont have much time but i love you all and hope all is well with the family! I love this work and this gospel. I love the lord. I am so blessed to be representing him in this glorias cause! I love you all and may God Bless!!

May 1, 2012: O-lo...

Family... The greatest family in the world!!

   How is everything!? Well things are good here in Guate. Great and Happy! This past week was full of ups and downs. Ill tell you an interesting story. SO..... Well we were out working hard just knockin doors. Trying to find new people to teach because we are still in the process of opening an area. We still have zero investigators.. But no worries we will find some soon I just know it! We were knocking doors and finally we found a man. We entered and starting teaching him. It was great I was real happy. He only had one chair so I just though well we will stand. While we were teaching my companion was like I need to sit down so I passed him the chair and he sat down. I continued to teach and thought everything was fine. No it wasnt... Out of the corner of my eye I see my comps body go limp and slowly started falling out of the chair. I tried to catch him with my leg but his head just hit my knee and then his head hit the ground really hard. It was bad. He straight fainted! It was crazy I didnt know what to do. He was out for like 2 or 3 minutes and I was just freakin out. HA HA I kept my cool but the man who we were teaching all of a sudden put his hands on him and started to pray to take out the evil spirits from him! HAHHA It was a Nightmare!!! I wanted to be like stop doing that please. You cant do that. But it was just crazy! Anywho It was just a nightmare. He finally came to and I was just shooken up so we called a member to come pick us up. It was a crazy day! But dont worry we went to the doctor yesterday and all is good he just needs to drink water like crazy. I made him drink alot of water yesterday and so did the doctor. This morning he tells me he wet the bed!! Ah man I love my companion! He is just too funny. He has a hard time though with missionary work. He doesnt quite know how to teach or really do alot of things but I am excited to be a ble to help him. Any whoo my week was kind of crazy. HAHA But yeah I love my new area. Its super wealthy and so its nothing like the coast where you can just find like 30 or 40 investigators in a week. haha Here its alitte harder. The people here are alot more prideful! But I love it. my house is great too I have a fireplace. and a washing machine! There is only two houses with washing machines. This house that im in and the house of the APs haha its awesome! The place im at is super cold compared to my last area so im kind fighting off a sickness right now but I love the coldness right now its super great! My district is awesome as well! The sisters in my district are super great! I am very happy right now. Little worried because we have had rough two weeks but we should have great week this week. I gave a great talk on sunday it was awesome. The ward is huge so I was a little nervous. You know me how I procrastinate and soooo I just winged it but it went really great! afterwards alot of members told me that they have people theyd like me to teach! It was awesome because I talked about the the inportance of missionary work and working with the members! it was awesome! This is just a ramble on paragraph but who cares right..Anywho... How is everything at home! Molly I love you I hope your birthday was great. Ive had a card written for like quite some time.. Still isnt sent but it will be there soon no worries!! haha Welp I love you all n stuff.. Julie I love your little emails thanks!!! Keep working hard and catch a fish for me!! Welp love you all.. April 24, 2012: Family

Hey Family...

   Well I dont have much time because I still have to send in some baptismal records but I will just tell ya the details... I got Transferred.. I am now in a place called San Lucas, Sacetepequez.. Part of the Chimaltenango stake! It is a very wealthy place here in Guate. But my ward is huge. its a ward of about 300 or something 267 attended on this past sunday. One of the biggest wards in Guate.. But its great. My district.. Huge as well... 6 sisters and 4 elders hahaha its hard enough when you have 2 sisters ive heard but dont worry I have 6. 3 news that dont speak spanish. sometimes they cry to me at night.. No just kidding. Its great! Just a great opportunity for me and a large task to complete. What a blessing from the lord! My companion is a good guy. He was comps with my last comp in the CCM so he is new as well. His name is Elder Luis Castillo from El salvador as well! Good guy he just doesnt talk haha oh well. Well I will tell more next week but i love the new place im in. It just really big the bishop is AWESOME.. But in my ward I have 2 sisters they just split the area in two so there is 4 missionaries in the ward. Pretty cool. My district meetings are in Antigua so thats cool I can come to Antigua alot! But anywho I gotta goooo.. Love you all and the church is True!! thanks for the emails!!

April 17, 2012: Family

Well hello!
   This past week was a great week. My last week here in Siquinala. It was good though. Want to know why? Well because we had a baptism of course! We baptized another family! We were so blessed to be able to baptize this family. They were prepared from the beginning! Family Morales. Hno. Nery and his wife Wendy. They are awesome!! Im sad to leave them but they will be great members forever and will help this branch alot in the future. Just hope fully the branch helps them now so that they can get to the future. They are great though! So.... yeah change calls came and yep im out. Hopefully im outta the coast. Its almost winter here.. Winter means lots and lots of rain and you dont want to be in Siqui for these times because Siquinala is the 2nd place in the world that it rains the most! Crazy huh? I dont know if thats true but thats what weve heard. But do you know what else I heard........ Sheep. Anywho my poor companion will get wet. But we all do. Guatemala just rains durring the rainning time. haha Welp we will have to see what the Lord has in store for me.. Where and Who. Im excited because I know that im ready for anyone! Maybe a gringo? haha Welp Im kind of sad to leave my comp. He is awesome but Im excited for him! He will be a great missionary! We had some great times together!..

   Well im excited for Molly and Jeff. They seem pretty happy.. Watchin One Tree Hill and what not. I remember at one time that was Molly and I but know Jeff has taken his place in the fam. Thats great! Im real happy for you two. Sounds like the family is doing great! I love getting pictures from dad! thanks so much! Love the fat face photos haha! Im glad that Britton is learning from his parents in family night! haha that is awesome! The Holy Ghost is a nice spirit! Well I love you all so much! Mom keep on using that iPad.. You go gurrrl.. I love you all! I havent heard from Grandma Jake in quite sometime.. Update on my Grandmas would be great! Because they are the best!! Well I love you all and I will send some photos Now... Love you all so much! Sorry my emails arent interesting I just dont know what to write. I have cool experiences like every second but I just dont have a great mind and im not a great writter..... aha But ill be better and tell more stories! Welp love you all and  challenge you all to read the Book of Mormon. It changes lives. I had the opportunity to finish it again this past week. As it teaches in Preach My Gospel that as members we can always try Moronis promise! and also that we need to do it frequently to have our testimonies grow more and more about the Book of Mormon. I gave Moronis promise another whirl after I finished and i can say that I felt the Spirit just as strong as anytime testify of the grestness and truthfulness and also any other time  I had read the Book of Mormon! I love that book and Testify of its truthfullness too everyone I can! Its my favorite tool! I love you all and Hope to hear from you all soon!

April 10, 2012: Family

Hello My Wonderful Family!

   Well this past week was a good week. We didnt really find that many new people to teach so that wasnt too good but that was alright I guesssss. But we worked hard and did the best week could. The passed week was called Semana Santa. Its a crazy catholic week I like it better like that.. Crazy Catholic Week. haha No you gotta love em walkin around in the streets with their ninja outfits. HA My comp and I had some fun. But it was a rough week the streets always filled with just Apostasy. Solo quiero decir que adoramos a nuestro Padre Celestial y Jesucristo, no adoramos a Maria aun que fue una buena persona. Im grateful for that! But it was a fun week just no one was home. But we had a great night last night. Let me start a new paragraph and ill tell you the story.

   Last night we had a great night. Started off with a family home evening with some members and investigators. But that made us super late to our next visit. it was at 7 and we showed up at 815. But they are a great family. They are the Golden family, Fam. Morales, that showed up to church and didnt feel good in church. But its been like 4 weeks since then so were good now. Anywho we knocked on the door and they were like do you have time to talk to us still? and we were like you betcha! so we entered and got all settled and asked how they have been and they were like good... So we were about to start that the lesson and before we could Hno. Morales said Wait before you start we have some good news. So we were like okay. last time it was bad news saying that they didnt want to come to church. This time it was good news. They then told us that they have been praying like all day and that they want to be baptized this saturday!!! WHAT? haha We were so surprised. We had a goal for this saturday with them but then they just came out and said theyre ready! We were super pumped! I love this family so much! And you know how we be right? because we baptize families!!! Nosotros Bautizamos Familias! We are super excited and really happy for them. They are a blessing from the Heavens! We are so blessed. I might be leaving this area next week i will be leaving happy! and sad to leave these great new families.. Well I love you all and I will send pictures next week.. well a few today I guess... Welll I love this work and I love my master and savior Jesus Christ I am so blessed to be able to serve him in this glorias cause! I love you all and im so glad I get to call you all my family! Thank you Jake and Michelle for your letters! They made me laugh and cry haha I loved Beckham dancin and I love my mom and dad always for being so fiel. Faithful to their favorite son! ;) }

Hello My BEAUTIFUL FAMILY!
   Well this past week was GREAT! Any week is great when you baptize a family! Yes! It happened! It was an awesome experience! Sunday between the two sessions we baptized em at the district center! It was AWESOME! Just to make a conference weekend that much better!! I loved it! So did everyone else! WE also had 2 families of investigators there at the conference and the baptism. Yeah now they are pumped for baptism. So we will be baptizing 2 more families this month as well! Hopefully before I leave this area on the 18 But we will see.. Hah Im ready to go I think... But Sorry dont have much time.. But I will tell you that I did get my Package and it was so great! The shoes are great! Everything is great. Thank you so much. And Dad looks like your going to have to tell me about Britton and about everyones stories because only you and mom write me! haha Not to point fingers or anything...But thanks sister Julie you made my week/month with that email!... Love you alllllllllll

March 27 2012: Fam Bam

Hey Family

   Well this past week was... an alright week. I was SUPER sick. But im better now so thats good! I had a good Birthday I guess. The activity at the church was great! I was very pleased with the turn out. The Branch president did come of course but HEY who needs him! We had four families of investigators there and some members that absolutely loved it! Kept asking when are we going to do this again? haha so were going to do it again next week and watch the testaments! So that should be good! The members that were there talked with all the other members and told them how great it was so we were happy about that! 

   This weekend is General Conference!! YAY im super duper excited.. I dont know about you guys but it will be great! Should be fun with the parents of Jeffery. But Mom you can atleast be thankful im on my mission. You have one less thing to worry about. haha I wont be able to make the impression id would like to make because I am on my mission. haha If i was home itd be another story but we will leave Zach in charge of that haha he will do great! It should be great though! General Conference will be great as well! Sunday in between the sessions we will be having a huge baptismal service as a district! We will be having 3 baptisms that day so it should be great! We are really grateful and happy to be able to have baptisms this day. We are baptizing a family, Familia Peña. The family that we married on this past saturday! Great family. keep them in your prayers! Anywho should be a great weekend! 

   Well other then that its been rainning lots here. Kind of crazy. Rain season is already starting. Hopefully those shoes get here soon. I still have holes on the bottom of my shoes so my feet get soaked when the roads are even just a little wet! haha oh wells I love it. My toe is getting worse and worse. i keep putting alcohol on it and everything but its just really infected. I dont think its ingrown anymore just really infected I think but oh well Ill keep takin care of it and see what happens. Well I love you all and i hope you all are doing really good! I hope you all have a great Conference weekend! Listening to a living Prophet! I am real excited and know that This church is true. Keep on being great family! The Lord will bless you all!
